Our primary objective is to provide an after school care service that has a safe, happy, stimulating, playful and home-like environment appropriate to the age and needs of each child. In order to achieve this goal we will work as a team; we will encourage positive behaviour; we will offer guidance and share information – to ensure high standards of health, safety and hygiene are always met.

We believe that children should be respected as individuals and their self-esteem should never be undermined. Self-respect and respect for others shall be encouraged and will be of paramount importance for both carers and children. Supervised free-play and self-directed play will be encouraged to support each child’s individual needs. Our underlying aim is to provide a ‘home from home’ facility with a warm, welcoming and happy atmosphere.

We recognize that the strength and sustainability of our service will benefit from good relations with all stakeholders in the school community (children, parents, teachers, Board of Management, Parents’ Council and Association, owners and trustees). These benefits will arise out of the reciprocal use of resources within the school community (including the financial, human, social, expert knowledge, space, etc) which we can simultaneously draw on and provide as supports in our development of a unique, high-quality after school care service.
